Adrenal Tonic

For temporary relief of marked debility producing nervous exhaustion, weakness and exhaustion following acute illness, and rheumatic pains in the sacrum and joints with muscular weakness.

Active Ingredients:

Mode of Action:

Phosphoricum Acidicum 12x – Marked debility producing nervous exhaustion. Weakness and exhaustion following acute illnesses. Apathetic, indifferent. Head heavy, confused. Pressure on top. Blue rings around eyes. Tearing pains in joints, bones and periosteum. Falling out of the hair.

Nux Vomica 12x – Very irritable. Sensitive to all impression. Cannot bear noises, odors, light, etc. Sullen, fault finding. Over-sensitiveness. Photophobia, worse in morning. Hoarseness with scraping in throat. Shallow respiration. Oppressed breathing.

Glycyrrhiza Ø – Helps in mental and physical debilities. It increases the effectiveness of glucocorticoids circulating in the liver and it mimics the action of these hormones itself. Helps to improve adrenal function. Its effectiveness derives from its ability to maintain the proper electrolyte balance in tissues, and from its ability to prevent the enzymatic destruction of whatever glucocorticoids and mineral corticoids happen to be present in the cells, thus allowing these hormones to circulate and be active longer. The net result is an increased level of energy. For relief of coughs, chest soreness, bronchial pain from bronchitis. Useful in sore throat; pharyngitis. General exhaustion and fatigue.

Sarsaparilla Ø (Smilax) 12x – Despondent, sensitive, easily offended, ill humored. Head pain causes depression. Burning on sides of fingers and toes. Rheumatism bone pain, worse at night.

Ginseng Ø – Hands feel swollen. Coldness to back and spine. Bruised pain in small of back and thighs. Stiff, contracted joints. Heaviness of the lower limbs. Stiffness in the back. For states of nervous exhaustion. Painful feeling of exhaustion in the extremities. Predominant weakness of intellect and forgetfulness, with confusion and heaviness of the head. The senses are dulled.

2Arsenicum Album 12x – Emotional symptoms: timidity, hopelessness. Great restlessness and urge to be moving. Burning pains and burning itching ameliorated by warm application. Bronchial asthma, taking the place of skin diseases. General pale swelling of the joints and inflammatory swelling with burning.

Adrenalin 12x, 30x – Main action is stimulation of the sympathetic endings, causing constriction of the peripheral arterioles, with resulting rise in blood pressure. Other effects are slowing of pulse, strengthening of heart beat, increased glandular activity, etc. Suggested for use if acute lung congestion, asthma, Grave’s Addison’s Diseases, arteriosclerosis, angina pectoris, hay fever, urticaria. Thoracic constriction with anguish.

Avena Sativa 3x – Nervous exhaustion. Mental exhaustion after overexertion. Has a selective action on brain and nervous systems, favorably influencing their nutritive functions. Inability to keep mind on any one subject. Numbness of limbs.

Natrum Muriaticum 12x – Great debility. Most weakness felt in the morning in head. Great weakness and weariness. Oversensitive to all sorts of influences. Loss of smell and taste (zinc deficiency). Chest feels constricted. Arms and legs, but especially knees, feel weak. Urticaria. Eczema in the crease of the elbows.

Kali Phosphorium 12x – Tissue remedy for the nutrition of the nerves and nervous functions. Neurasthenia, depression and melancholia. Nervousness, weakness of memory, anxiety, autonomic dystonia. Rheumatic pains in the sacrum, associated with muscular weakness.

Veratum Album 12x – Cold sweating, especially on the forehead. States of collapse in asthma, circulatory and heart diseases, in gastrointestinal illnesses and colic. Muscular cramps, especially in calves. Sullen indifference. Hoarse, weak voice. Palpitation with anxiety. Soreness and tenderness of joints.

Adrenal 5x, 9x – The adrenal gland is composed of the adrenal cortex and the medulla. The medulla secretes epinephrine and norepinephrine which are responsible for the “fight or flight” ability. The cortex secretes cortisone and corticoids which have an effect on carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism. Useful in fatigue, tiredness, heavy limbs and states of exhaustion.

Dosage:

10-15 drops 3-6 times per day or as directed by a health care practitioner.

Mode of Action:

Conium 12x – Dysmenorrhea, with drawing down the thighs. Mammary hard, painful to touch. Breast enlarges and becomes painful before and during menses. Menses delayed and scanty.

Sepia 12x – Bearing down sensation as if everything would escape through the vulva. Leucorrhea yellow, greenish; with much itching. Menses late and scanty; irregular. Vagina painful.

Calcerea Fluoride 12x – Heavy leucorrhea, milky, yellowish. Pain in the pelvis before menses. Painful congestion in the breast before menses.

Lachesis 12x – Menses too short, too feeble; pains all relieved by the flow. Left ovary painful and swollen. Mammary inflamed, bluish. Palpitations; hot flashes; headaches; fainting spells, all relieved by this remedy.

Lac Conium 12x – Menses too early, profuse, flows in gushes. Breasts swollen; painful before menses and better on appearance of menses. Galactorrhea.

Caulophyllum Ø – Spasmodic and severe uterine pains, which fly in all directions. Menses and leucorrhea profuse.

Cyclamen 15x – Menses profuse, black, clotted, too early, with labor like pains from back to pubis; menstrual irregularities. Postpartum hemorrhage, with colicky bearing down pains,

Mode of Action:

Baptista 3x – Low fevers present, septic condition of the blood, and extreme prostration. Great muscular soreness; influenza. Intestinal toxemia of children with fetid stools. In low dilutions produces a form of antibodies to the bac. typhus. Thus it raises the natural bodily resistance to the invasion of the bacillary intoxication. Painless sore throat, and offensive discharge.

Bryonia 12x – Dryness of throat, sticking on swallowing, scraped and constricted. Hoarseness; dry, hacking cough from irritation in upper trachea, cough dry, at night; worse after eating or drinking. Profuse perspiration.

Crotalus 12x – Throat dry, swollen, dark red. Cough, with bloody expectoration. Malignant fevers of a hemorrhagic character.

Echinacea Øx – Symptoms of blood poisoning, septic conditions generally. Tired feeling. Lymphatic inflammation. Ulcerated sore throat. Lymphatics enlarged.

Cratageus 6x – Excessive perspiration. Cough. Pulse accelerated, irregular, feeble, intermittent. Support of the circulation in infectious diseases and fever.

Ginkgo Ø, 6x – General numbness with shivering; heaviness in the frontal region of the brain; mental work more easily carried out, in spite of sensation of fatigue. Legs feel like jelly, feet feel icy.

Aurum Metallicum 12x – Violent pain in the head; worse at night. Roaring in the head. Sensation as if the heart stopped beating.

Secale 12x – Palpitation, with contracted and intermittent pulse. Cold, dry hands and feet. Fingers and feet bluish and numb. Ice coldness of the extremities.

Aconite 12x – Head has fullness; is heavy, pulsating, hot, bursting undulating sensation. Burning headache.

Glonoine 12x – Remedy for congestive headache, hyperemia of the brain from excess of heat or cold. Confusion, with dizziness. Head heavy, but cannot lay it on a pillow. Sun headache; headache at time of menses.

Gelsenium 12x – Vertigo, spreading from occiput. Heaviness of the head; band feeling around and occipital headache. Dull, heavy ache, with heaviness of eyelids; pain in temple, extending into the ear. Headache with muscular soreness of neck and shoulders.

Ambrosia 12x -Water coryza; sneezing; watery discharge. Stuffed up feeling of nose and head. Irritation of trachea and bronchial tubes, with asthmatic attacks. Intolerable itching of the eyelids; lachrymation.

Solidago 12x – Feeling of weakness, chilliness alternating with heat; nasopharyngeal catarrh, burning in the throat. Watery burning and stinging eyes. Paroxysms of sneezing.

Allium Cepa 12x – Eyes red; much burning and smarting lachrymation. Sensitive to light. Sneezing; especially when entering a warm room. Copious, watery and extremely acrid discharge from the nose. For temporary relief of pain in the back before urinating, constant urging and frequent urination, kidneys sensitive to pressure, and pain from back extending down the thighs.

Mode of Action:

Cantharis 12x – Raw, Burning pain. Intolerable, constant urging to urinate. Dysuria. Inflammation of bladder and kidney. Nephritis with bloody urine. Violent paroxysms of cutting and burning in whole renal region, with painful urging to urinate. Cutting pain before, during and after urination. Urine scalds and is passed drop by drop. Constant desire to urinate.

Lycopodium 12x – Pain in the back before urinating, ceases after flow. Urine slow in coming and must strain. Polyuria during the night. Heavy red sediment in the urine.

Pareira 3x – Black, bloody, thick, mucous urine. Constant urging, great straining. Pain down thighs during efforts to urinate. Can emit urine only when he goes on his knees. Feeling of the bladder being distended and neuralgic pain in the anterior crural region. Dribbling after micturition. Violent pain in glans penis. Itching and inflammation of urethra. Pain going down the thigh. Useful in renal colic and prostatic affection.

Solidago Ø – Pain in the region of the kidneys with dysuria. Kidneys sensitive to pressure. Urine scanty, reddish brown, tick sediment. Difficult to urinate and scanty. Pain in the kidneys extending forward to abdomen and bladder. Clear and offensive urine. Backache from congested kidneys.

Echinacea Ø – Urine albuminous, scanty, frequent and involuntary. Chilliness and nausea. Cold flashes all over back.

Uva Ursi Ø – Cystitis with bloody urine. Burning after the discharge of slimy urine. Pyelitis. Urine — frequent urging with severe spasms of bladder. Burning and tearing pain. Urine contains blood, pus and much tenacious mucous. Urine — involuntary. Green urine. Painful dysuria.

Petroselinum Ø – Burning, tingling urination from perineum throughout whole urethra. Sudden urging to urinate. Frequent urination. Intense biting, itching deep in urethra. Milky

discharge. Sudden, irresistible desire to urinate. Kidney 4x, 6x, 12x, 30x, 200x – The two kidneys together contain about 2,400,000 nephrons,

and each nephron is composed of: a glomerulus from which fluid is filtered; and a long tubule in which the filtered fluid is converted into urine on its way to the pelvis of the kidney.

As the glomerular filtrate flows through the renal tubule, over 99 percent of its water and varying amounts of its solutes are normally reabsorbed into the vascular system, and small amounts of some substances are also secreted into the tubules. The remaining tubular water and substances become the urine.

The overall physiological functions of the kidney would include: homeostasis (retention and excretion of metabolites); maintaining acid-base balance; regulation of fluid balance; excretion of waste products of metabolism; excretion of erythropoietin, which in turn stimulated the bone marrow to produce red blood cells; conversion of Vitamin D into its active form 1, 25, dihydroxycholecalciferol which promotes calcium absorption from the intestines; secretion renin which causes the formation of Angiotensin II, which in its turn helps regulate blood pressure.

Glutathione 5x – For stimulation of the liver oxidative Phase II enzymes. Chelates heavy metals, i.e., mercury from the body.
